Accessibility
Our commitment to making the platform usable for everyone.
Last updated: March 5, 2026
The CSE DIU Alumni Network is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience and apply relevant accessibility standards.
Our Commitment
We believe every alumnus, regardless of ability, deserves equal access to our platform. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Measures We Take
To ensure accessibility, we:
- Include accessibility as part of our internal development process and design reviews.
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities across teams.
- Use semantic HTML to provide meaningful structure to screen readers.
- Ensure all interactive elements are keyboard-navigable.
- Maintain sufficient color contrast ratios throughout the interface.
- Provide descriptive
alttext for all informational images. - Use ARIA landmark roles and attributes where appropriate.
- Ensure all form inputs have associated labels.
Conformance Status
The CSE DIU Alumni Network is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to address known gaps.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas are still being improved:
- Older PDF documents in the resources section may lack complete tagging.
- Some complex data visualizations may not yet have full text alternatives.
- Third-party embedded content may not meet all accessibility requirements.
We are committed to resolving these issues and welcome reports from users who encounter barriers.
Assistive Technology Support
The platform has been tested and is designed to work with:
- Screen readers: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), TalkBack (Android).
- Keyboard-only navigation: Full support for Tab, Enter, Escape, and arrow key navigation.
- Zoom: Content remains functional and readable up to 200% zoom.
- High contrast mode: Windows High Contrast Mode and browser-level contrast settings are respected.
Text Resizing and Display
You can adjust text size using your browser's built-in zoom or text-size settings. The platform uses responsive, fluid layouts that reflow correctly at all zoom levels without requiring horizontal scrolling.
